Genomic Alterations in Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Routine Clinical Practice
نویسندگان
چکیده
Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), the most common acute leukemia in adults, is a genetically heterogeneous disease. Genomic alterations condition pathophysiology of AML. Nowadays, these changes are considered to be important biomarkers for risk stratification, treatment decisions (including new targeted drugs) and Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) monitoring during followup Positive MRD AML patients associated with higher relapse shorter overall survival compared negative individuals. Nevertheless, MRD-targets, diagnostic techniques, time points determination, analyzed material not standardized. Thus, integration testing individual routine practice still workin- progress. This review article comprehensively focuses on key molecular their utilization clinical practice, especially regarding assessment testing. Moreover, molecular-targeted therapies briefly summarized here.

Alterations of adiponectin gene expression in bone marrow of acute myeloid leukemia
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is characterized by the proliferation of myeloid precursors and abnormal differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells, which results in the accumulation of immature cells in the bone marrow (BM). The accumulation of these cells in the bone marrow causes molecular and cellular changes in the microenvironment of the bone marrow. The adiponectin hormone orig...
متن کاملAcute Myeloid Leukemia—Genetic Alterations and Their Clinical Prognosis
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a group of hematological diseases, phenotypic and genetically heterogeneous, characterized by abnormal accumulation of blast cells in the bone marrows and peripheral blood. Its incidence rate is approximately 1.5 per 100,000 in infants younger than 1 year of age and 25 per 100,000 persons in octogenarians. Traditionally, cytogenetic markers are used to stratify p...
متن کاملThe role of microRNA in acute/chronic, myeloid/lymphocytic leukemia
MicroRNAs are small, non-coding sequences that regulate gene expression by inducing degradation or translational inhibition of target mRNAs. These molecules control many intracellular physiological and pathological processes.Abnormal expression of these moleculs has been described in different cancers including hematopoietic cancers. According to the type of cancer and the stage, miRNA’s expres...

متن کاملGenomic analysis reveals few genetic alterations in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia.
Pediatric de novo acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an aggressive malignancy with current therapy resulting in cure rates of only 60%. To better understand the cause of the marked heterogeneity in therapeutic response and to identify new prognostic markers and therapeutic targets a comprehensive list of the genetic mutations that underlie the pathogenesis of AML is needed. To approach this goal, ...
